Initiatives I have supported:
Long range facility planning process to rightsize the district’s footprint via retirement of older, end of life campuses while improving and increasing opportunities for students.
Annual zero-based budgeting for every department to ensure each dollar spent is necessary.
Lowering the I&S tax rate and requiring additional regular financial modeling for bond programs to ensure the district can meet its financial obligations for prior and future facility needs.
Voter-Approved Tax Rate Election in 2022 to increase M&O funding, specifically for programs and campus staff compensation.
Initiatives by the legislature to provide property tax transparency, taxpayer relief, and reduce Plano ISD’s recapture via property tax compression and other legislation.
