STEM and Technical Education

Initiatives I have supported:

  1. The development and construction of a state of the art, voter approved Career and Technical Education Center and other expanded CTE opportunities to allow secondary students to earn valuable certifications for future employment in strategic, high wage, and in demand career fields.

  2. Evaluation of the district’s K-12 math programming to ensure wider access and expanded entry points to multiple tiers of advanced mathematics.

  3. Expanded opportunities in local, state, national, and international STEM competitions.

  4. Innovative STEM programs, specifically at the elementary level, to create a district-wide educational ladder to the STEM and CTE opportunities in place or being developed at the secondary level.

  5. Expansion of Health Sciences opportunities and a new Electrical Engineering academy embedded within existing campuses or the CTE center.
